Aamir Saleem started singing when he was in school and he bought his first guitar after working in a hotel as a receptionist in summer holidays. He formed his first music band with the name “Image”, his best friend Naveed Mugees was on guitar and Alim Arshid was on keyboard. After that he moved to Karachi in 1986. He used to sing with different bands to make money and record his first solo album that took three years to complete.

In 1991 Aamir Saleem released his first music album named MUSAFIR. 2 years latter in 1993 it was Ajnabi followed by HUMSAFAR in 1995, MOHABBAT IN 1997, KHWAAB in 2002 and DIL DA QUATER in 2006.
During an earlier interview, Aamir had stated he would be contributing two tracks to a movie being directed by Australian-Pakistani film-maker Rafiq Chaudhry. Unfortunately, the project was shelved after lead actors Sajjal Ali and Feroze Khan left the project. Aamir Saleem had made a steady name back in the day, but has maintained a low profile for a long time.
Aamir Saleem has also worked as a director for videos and road shows together with anchor Ali Salman on MTV Pakistan, under the name of Bad Company. He hosted live show on FM 107 (Karachi) and is hosting a live show on PTV National. He sang the first title song for the comedy TV program Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain. He has also acted in the telefilm Daira on Geo TV. Aamir Saleem also released a Sufi song video especially for Ramadan title “Jindri”.

Aamir Saleem is now recalled for the hits he gave us in the early 1990s, including “Woh Taron Bhari”, “C.B. Chali Ana”, and “Ajnabi”.
