Visuals for a song, are as important as music, lyrics and composition. The response for Maula is phenomenal, and it is not just Rishi Rich—Farhan Saeed collaboration, in my opinion Maula is Adnan Qazi’s frenetic imagination that conjured 9591508 views thus making it Farhan Saeed’s most recognizable music videos.
“Maula is all about the ray of hope that we see in our creator in times of heart break.” said Adnan Qazi, director for music video “Maula”. Maula starring Kiran Malik is a first collaborative project of Farhan Saeed and Rishi Rich released by VYRL Originals, an EMI property led by Bollywood’s Mohit Suri.
Photography is my “first love” says Adnan Qazi and you know that is true when you see his work in portrait and fashion which continues to be extensive. “But direction is something that I really enjoy. Lights, cameras, sets, it’s the entire flow of work and everything else connected to it while you are in a directors role, is what I enjoy the most” he added.
Wondering how he chooses the right kind of people for an ensemble, I asked him if there is a set criteria he follows before taking up any project.
“It is less about the technical, and more about the inner journey as photographer or a director” he said. “I am always open to working with different people, it is creativity that is important to me. Creativity is like inventing… it’s like having fresh interpretation and perspective on a project”
Adnan also has line produced for the Pakistani film Arth, and directing a song from the same film is to his credit too.
The film was shot in the UK. All of Adnan’s project are shot in UK and Europe “Everything just happens to have happened here. Pakistan is my home country. I love Pakistan and when the time and project is right, I would really like to do something in Pakistan too” he said.
Adnan has so far photographed and worked with all well sought faces of Pakistan’s fashion and entertainment industry including Shaan, Faryal Makhdoom, Ali Zafar, Momina Mustehsan, Humaima Malick, Urwa Hocane, Mawra Hocane, Kubra, Shehryar Munawar, Mohib Mirza, Ali Xesshan and the list is endless!!
“True!! I have been super lucky to work with the successful people of the industry. They are all very close to my heart. I have enjoyed working with all of them. But dreams don’t just come true. Dreams don’t work unless you do. You really need to keep your focus and trust the process. For whatever you are looking achieve, you really have to work hard if you are looking to achieve.”
Not revealing much on what is coming nwxt from him, Adnan said: “There is a lot more coming. Projects are exciting, things next in the pipeline are much bigger and larger than life”
